Day of the Dead (Woman) Shoe

“I’m dead on my feet,”she said. “My blisters have blisters and my bunions have bunions.”

That was more information than I needed to have, but I’d seen what she was walking around in, so none of what she had to say surprised me.

Gicleé print, signed & matted — $75

Every shoe tells a story — I know, I know, Day of the Dead should be black and white and red. What can I say? I was in a colorful mood. At some point I'm planning to re-create these in the proper colors. Won't they look super cool all together?

"The foot of Canal Street" is where the cemeteries are. In New Orleans. Paul Sanchez and John Boutte wrote a song about it. Hear it HERE.

This shoe, along with the Day of the Dead (Man), was created for a show at my friend Tim Neil's Last Gallery on Magazine Street.
