Black + Gold (Saints) Shoe

"Who dat!" she hollered, by way of "heads up" as she tossed me another beer. I caught the pass and hollered back, "Touchdown!". Anyone could tell these were not our first beers of the game.

ThiS aint so bad, I thought. In my mind, there was only one more satisfying way to spend a Sunday afternoon than huddled together on her couch watching football. Unfortunately, I'd been blocked.

"I can't take any of this stuff off until they win. It's bad luck!"

Bad luck for me, I thought. I only hoped the game wouldn't go into overtime.

Gicleé print, signed & matted — $75

Every shoe tells a story — In college, my painting teacher would not allow us to have any black paint, because black should be made out of other colors like it is in nature; using black paint out of the tube can  result in things looking grey and dull. I tried mixing greens and purples for this one but it wasn't working; I think it's because this is a manufactured thing, not something in nature. I needed it to be just black, not other colors. I ended up using actual black, mixing it with ultramarine and indigo for richness ( and to eliminate the risk of it going grey).

For other projects that require the use of black, sometimes I'll mix in a burnt umber for a warmer tone, but what are the Saints if not cool?
