“So, how do you like it?”
She twirled, a bit unsteadily.
“You’ve...certainly come prepared,” I said.
It wasn’t the blurt she’d been hoping for. When would I learn to keep a lid on? What difference did it make, anyway? With any luck --- and a couple of martinis --- I’d be charming her out of the whole getup inside of an hour.

Every shoe tells a story — This was a piece I'd started and put aside for several years. It isn't one of my favorites, to tell you the truth (the heel isn't high enough, for starters), but the idea has potential. At some point I think I'll give it another pass.
This was created for a show I curated at Ariodante Gallery in New Orleans called "The Art of the Cocktail".
