Margarita Shoe

“Have you ever been south of the border?”

 

“Not with you,” I said, running my

finger around the edge of her serape.

 

“Then finish your tourist drink and

let’s get out of here.”

 

Tonight? I couldn’t imagine she was serious. The drinks were strong in this place, but even so, I’d known her for less than an hour. Was I ready to go? Was she? I noticed that my ice had melted. Maybe we’d been here longer than I thought. “Let me make a quick call,” I said, “and move a few things around.”

 

It was the least I could do. She’d moved a few things around for me already.
